Fishing boats, due to their characteristics as motorized vessels used for recreational purposes, fall under the management scope of yachts and are registered as yachts by maritime authorities in many areas. Of course, unlike other types of yachts, the primary recreational activity on a fishing boat is fishing. In recent years, fishing boats have become increasingly popular among anglers, leading to rapid sales growth. However, safety accidents involving yachts, including fishing boats, have also occurred frequently, gradually attracting the attention of management departments.
Recently, the Shandong Maritime Safety Administration, the Shandong Provincial Department of Transportation, and the China Classification Society jointly convened a special meeting on yacht safety management in response to several yacht safety accidents occurring in Shandong's waters. Based on relevant laws and regulations, they studied further standardizing yacht inspection, registration, and safety supervision, clarified relevant management requirements, and released the meeting minutes.
