The boat excels in integrated operations including towing, pushing, mooring assistance, and maritime maintenance. Standard equipment includes hydraulic tow winches, heavy-duty anti-collision systems, and optional azimuth thrusters, deck winches, cranes, and positioning systems. It serves as a reliable operational tool for port authorities, shipping terminals, offshore engineering teams, and maritime rescue units. Full documentation, including classification society certification, is provided upon export.
Core Product Features
Constructed from 5083-H116 marine grade aluminum alloy and approved by leading classification societies, this tug hull resists saltwater corrosion well, so no rust will occur even when operating long-term in coastal and port waters with high salinity. Unlike steel hull vessels, it avoids regular rust cleaning and repeated anti-corrosion coating work, which greatly cuts your yearly maintenance labor and expense.
Designed with a wide beam and low center of gravity, the vessel stays stable against rolling when carrying out heavy pushing and towing tasks. Its draft ranges from 0.8 m to 2.2 m under full load, letting it navigate shallow berths, inland rivers and confined water areas that most large conventional tugboats cannot reach. Reinforced plates on the bow and side bulkheads can bear repeated pulling and pushing loads for years. Thick rubber fenders run along the whole hull to absorb collision force, protecting both this tug and large docked ships from structural damage during berthing.
For frequent high-load port tasks, our harbor tugboat comes with an industrial-grade hydraulic towing winch. It can automatically adjust cable tension and retract ropes smoothly, with pulling force adjustable between 8 tons and 35 tons. This flexible tension control fits docking operations for container ships, bulk carriers and oil tankers of various sizes.
The open working deck uses diamond anti-slip surface and built-in drainage to prevent water pooling in rainy or choppy conditions. We install multiple heavy-duty mooring bollards and cable guide grooves, with fixed zones reserved for towing work. Pre-set mounting points allow quick fitting of push frames, fire monitors and oil spill recovery equipment, so you can switch between regular port service, emergency fire response and water pollution cleanup with ease.

Coordinated with full-length rubber fenders, the surrounding protective structure lessens wear caused by frequent docking, pushing and towing. It helps extend vessel service life and cuts daily repair costs effectively.
Two propulsion options are offered: twin-engine twin-propeller and full azimuth Z-type drive. You can select the right setup based on local water environment and working frequency. The steerable propeller unit supports tight turns and sideways movement, delivering precise positioning in narrow port channels. It speeds up large-vessel berthing work and lifts overall port operation efficiency.
Benefiting from lightweight aluminum construction, the vessel gains stronger traction output under the same engine power compared with steel tugboats, which saves energy and improves working efficiency. The power unit runs steadily under heavy loads, suitable for continuous operation in variable wind and wave conditions.
The wheelhouse features a full-round viewing design so operators can monitor surrounding waters and all deck operations clearly. An elevated wheelhouse is optional for busy terminals with dense ship traffic to get a broader view.
Standard marine navigation and communication equipment includes GPS, radar, AIS and echo sounder to guarantee safe all-weather sailing. We also fit automatic bilge pumps, fixed fire fighting systems and complete lifesaving equipment. Onboard cabins, lounge spaces and washrooms enable crews to take long shifts for port duty and short coastal voyages, easing fatigue from repetitive daily operations.

Core Operational & Cost Advantages
High-Efficiency Port Scheduling Capacity
The aluminum hull is relatively lightweight, which improves the efficiency of power utilization. With the same engine power, it can provide stronger mooring pulling force, effectively enhancing the single-ship operation capability. The azimuth thruster configuration enables all-round movement and turning, significantly shortening the berthing time of large vessels and significantly improving the turnover efficiency of the port and wharf. It supports 24/7 operation and can operate normally in adverse weather and sea conditions, ensuring uninterrupted port scheduling and successfully completing emergency towing tasks.
Low operation and low-cost advantages
The aluminum hull does not require rust removal or anti-rust painting operations, resulting in very low long-term maintenance costs. The renewal cycle of the anti-corrosion coating is longer, saving more than half of the maintenance expenses annually. Moreover, the designed service life exceeds 25 years. At the same time, it saves fuel consumption. The lightweight hull can reduce the sailing resistance, and compared with steel-hulled tugboats of the same tonnage, fuel consumption can be reduced by up to 25% in the long-term daily operation, with extremely low costs.
Outstanding safety and reliability
The wide beam and low center of gravity design complies with international maritime standards. It has strong anti-overturning capabilities in heavy-load towing and pushing operations, effectively ensuring operational safety. The aluminum material can absorb impact energy through plastic deformation and will not undergo brittle fracture. Combined with the heavy-duty bumper protection system, it significantly reduces collision damage, avoids the risk of hull rupture and sinking, and has excellent shock resistance. The dual power system can ensure basic navigation capabilities even in the event of a single power failure, avoiding anchor damage accidents in the port and maintaining high continuous operation safety.
Comprehensive customization service
Supports multi-functional modular design. By replacing the task modules, it can be freely switched to ship operations, firefighting, oil spill recovery, engineering projects, and other modes, reducing redundant equipment investment and achieving high usage efficiency. It meets the needs of customers for comprehensive parameter customization. From length, width, draft depth to power scheme, traction force, and equipment configuration, all can be fully customized according to water area characteristics, operation types, and regional supervision.
Comprehensive certification support
This vessel can provide certification services from various classification societies such as CCS, CE, DNV, and BV. It is equipped with complete inspection reports and factory inspection documents, meeting the import and vessel registration requirements of various countries worldwide, and has high export adaptability.
Application Scenarios
- Assist large ships to berth and depart; relocate barges and maintain port operational order; install buoys and floating dock facilities.
- Offer emergency towing for disabled vessels and auxiliary support for offshore wind and bridge construction projects.
- Respond to ship fires and oil spill incidents; tow damaged vessels to safety and transfer emergency personnel and supplies.
- Support maritime law enforcement and provide temporary docking assistance for marina yachts.

Package And Transport
Package
Factory pre-treatment (standardized packaging and protection before shipment).
The liquid has been drained, the battery has been disconnected and removed, and it is packaged separately in a wooden box. Protection of precision components: The control console instruments, radar antenna and navigation sensors are all wrapped in vacuum moisture-proof aluminum foil bags containing built-in desiccants, and the hydraulic winch and the small gear of the crane are locked and fixed.
Apply temporary protective wax on the underwater part, spray anti-rust oil on metal components, and cover the rubber protective coamings with woven protective fabric.
Mark the lifting center of gravity point, binding and fixation points, and lifting tonnage on the hull; all wooden packaging is subjected to fumigation and heat treatment in accordance with ISPM15 standards, and IPPC labels are affixed.
Transport
19.9-meter medium-sized tugboat is loaded on the deck of a general cargo ship.
Operation process: Transported from the inland river shipyard to the export port → Supervised loading by customs → Entirely lifted onto the open deck of the ocean general cargo ship → The base is welded + multiple high-strength steel cables are crossed and bound, and diagonal braces are added for reinforcement, with pre-tension tests at each binding point.
